Welcome to Atlanta.
A Mecca of black entrepreneurship; from black folks working and running the streets, to making waves in music and beauty, to running corporations by themselves to employing hundreds, THEY OUTCHEA.
• We give light and love to skin folk that is real deal kinfolk. We put abundance and art family before Cap and weird energy.
• Writer, Director Ebony Supreme of The House of June asked me to create a piece that spoke to Black Women in Atlanta.
• We saw them breaching the surface on their “mermaid shit” (Making space for their work, their voices, their talents and their authentic selves to not only show up but thrive right here in Atlanta).
• The Jordan Film brought a real life mermaid (ISADOH) to the middle of Atlanta 🧜🏿♀️🌊. But Real Recognize Real and we know there’s more of them (MERMAIDS) are defying odds and breaking through the surface.
Special thank you to the mermaids who helped us along the way.
